It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to GeriPsych2025, the 1st National Conference on Psycho-Gerontology, themed “Building an Umbrella of Care: Weaving Mental Health & Well-being in Ageing Population” hosted jointly by Department of Psychiatry & Geriatric Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

With the rapid increase in the ageing population, there is a growing need to address their unique mental health concerns. This conference is a response to that urgent need by providing a platform for collective learning, interdisciplinary dialogue, and forward-looking strategies to support mental well-being in later life.

The three-day event is thoughtfully structured to offer both skill development and academic engagement. Day 1 (Pre-conference) will feature hands-on workshops designed to build clinical competencies in elder care. Day 2 and Day 3 will comprise the main conference, which includes keynote addresses by eminent experts, symposia, free paper and poster presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

Our aim is to bring together professionals and scholars from across disciplines—psychiatry, clinical psychology, gerontology, nursing, social work, and public health—to foster collaboration and encourage the integration of services that address the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of ageing.

To encourage budding researchers, one of the key highlights of the conference will be the Best Paper and Best Poster Awards for every theme track. We are confident that this conference will serve as a catalyst for knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and policy-relevant discussions that can shape the future of elder care in India.
